When I See Myself
The project began with documenting the creator’s own body, stripping away embellishments to observe often ignored or over-examined details. This revealed how body perceptions are shaped by external forces, and sparked an interest in the marks of time, history, and daily life etched into the skin, where personal and public histories intertwine.
The work seeks to reclaim women’s self-gaze, challenging beauty norms and uncovering the histories beneath the skin, preserving and presenting Herstory from a subjectivity point of view through the bodies and stories of women.
